Deposits, Premium protection, incident reporting and cancellations — the details for your rental in one place.
Damage deposit and fines hold
Premium rentals have a €0 vehicle-damage security deposit. A separate €100 refundable hold is collected to cover potential penalties or parking tickets incurred during the rental. This is not a damage deposit, an insurance excess or part of the €500 damage contribution.
Any deduction must relate to a documented penalty or parking ticket attributable to the rental. The unused balance is refundable. The collection method and release timing must be stated in the rental agreement before payment. The €100 does not cap liability for valid penalties exceeding that amount.
For rentals without Premium, any applicable damage deposit is confirmed before booking and recorded in the rental agreement.
Stop safely. Contact us promptly.
- Prioritise safety. Stop in a safe place. Call 112 if emergency assistance is needed.
- Notify Olin. Contact us as soon as it is safe and reasonably possible, including for a minor fall or scratch. Do not leave reporting until return.
- Record the incident. Where safe, take photographs and record the time, location, circumstances and details of other parties or witnesses.
- Complete the reports. Complete an accident report and contact police when required by law or the circumstances, including injury or theft. Cooperate with the claim assessment.
- Wait for instructions. Do not continue riding an unsafe vehicle or arrange repairs without authorisation, except where urgently necessary to prevent immediate danger.
Cancellations, refunds and early returns
Notify Olin as soon as possible if you need to cancel. Before delivery: no cancellation fee. For standard rentals, the cancellation fee after delivery is €35. For Premium rentals, this early-cancellation fee is waived.
Waiving the cancellation fee does not by itself promise a refund of all unused rental days or Premium charges. Any refund of unused time is determined by the booking conditions agreed before purchase. Days already used and other valid outstanding charges remain payable.
Return the scooter at the agreed place, date and time. Late returns may incur the charges stated in your rental agreement. Extensions require approval in advance.
Driver, vehicle and payment requirements
The renter must be at least 18 and meet the age and licence requirements applicable to the chosen vehicle. A car licence does not automatically qualify every driver for every scooter. Only drivers authorised in the agreement may ride. A helmet and phone holder are included with the rental; further included items and extras are stated in your booking.
The rental begins and ends at the agreed times. Rates and payment obligations are those agreed at booking; changes or extensions must be agreed with Olin. Payment options include cash, card and MB WAY, subject to the arrangements confirmed for your booking.
Vehicle condition and lost keys
The scooter is supplied in working condition. Record its condition at pickup and return. Existing damage and normal wear are distinguished from new chargeable damage; damage charges should be itemised and supported by evidence.
Report lost keys promptly. Under the existing rental terms, key replacement costs and a €20 lost-key fee apply. Premium’s damage contribution does not itself promise coverage for lost keys, personal belongings or personal injury.
Insurance and applicable terms
Third-party liability insurance is included, subject to the policy and Portuguese law. Premium adds the limited damage contribution described above. For the €0 damage deposit, €100 fines hold, €500 contribution and Premium cancellation-fee waiver, these specific Premium provisions take precedence over inconsistent general descriptions for bookings made under these terms.
These terms govern future bookings made under this version; they do not retrospectively remove rights under an existing booking. Portuguese law applies, including mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rules. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
